Support Us

You’re here because you care about stories that don’t echo dominant narratives, but challenge them.

We are an independent, bilingual platform built by and for communities whose histories, insights, and realities are routinely excluded from global conversations.

Across politics and society, art and culture, technology and the environment, we craft stories rooted in lived experience, critical analysis, and accessible dialogue. These stories are created with – not about – communities. They are shaped by scholars, artists, and everyday observers, grounded in proximity, memory, and layered understanding. They reflect the world’s multiplicity beyond headlines and borders.

Our work is deliberate editorial labor, practiced within a media ecosystem that filters which stories are told, whose voices carry weight, and how reality is framed.

When you support UntoldMag, you make this labor possible. You support a platform that rejects extractive, one-sided systems and sustains plural ways of knowing, feeling, and narrating the world.

Together, we:

Support participation, not performance

Inclusion is inherently exclusive, granted by those in power, shaped by their standards,  and constrained by institutional norms. Diversity often serves branding but disappears from decision-making. At UntoldMag, we center Global Majority authors in storytelling, analysis, and editorial strategy. We reclaim peripheral knowledge on global issues like AI, technology, and climate, not as an exception, but as essential to the foundation of collective understanding and influence.

Tell stories that carry contradiction

Mainstream media flattens people and places into binaries. Lived experience resists that frame. We commission work that holds space for complexity and nuance: where war is addressed through memory, loss, and survival, not reduced to spectacle, where migrants narrate their own realities and where identity doesn’t have to be exceptional to be valid. From Gaza, Dhaka, São Paulo, Naples, Damascus, and beyond; each story expands what is defined as “reality”.

Challenge the borders of belonging

Borders are not just territorial; they define who is visible, who is credible, and who is centered. In mainstream media and public discourse, knowledge from the Global Majority is often sidelined and deemed irrelevant, emotional, or unfit to read the world. At UntoldMag, we publish work that challenges these exclusions and makes space for perspectives that unsettle fixed ideas of identity, gender, power, knowledge, and political legitimacy. Our contributors assert presence without needing permission.

We believe truth holds contradiction, imagination expands from the margins,  and deeper understanding grows from entangled, interconnected realities across geographies, societies, and experiences.

Your contribution sustains this work, keeping UntoldMag free, independent, and collectively held.
