Eleni Albarosa

Eleni Albarosa (b. 1996) is an Italian-Greek photographer and anthropologist based between Europe and Latin America. Born in Athens and raised in Italy, she began photographing at fifteen and was
first published by National Geographic Italy the same year. Her work explores communities and social realities affected by prejudice, misinformation, and marginalization, combining long-term
visual storytelling with anthropological research.
Her projects have focused on Romani communities, Irish Travellers, nomadic circus performers, grassroots movements in Greece, and former prisoners in Mexico City. In 2024, she launched La Ternura es Radical, a project developed with anthropologist Jorge Varela Perera, which received the Canon Student Development Program Award at Visa pour l’Image.
Albarosa is a member of Women Photograph and has been published internationally, including by National Geographic USA, Billboard, Huck Magazine, and Collater.al. Her work has been exhibited across Europe and North America, and she has received awards from Athens Photo World, BSPF, and The Independent Photographer.
