Iliusi D. Vega del Valle is a physicist and bioinformatician. She started her work on complex systems at National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), studying plant development, and then moved on to develop algorithms for the detection of disease progression at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics. She worked as climate researcher at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impacts Research and, currently, develops indicators of human rights progressivity focused on achieving lives with dignity caring for the rights of nature, as well as developing community-led research, public policy initiatives, and strategies to amplify and support the work of environmental defenders in Mexico.
